Abstract Guidelines

Abstract Content

  • The abstract title is limited to 300 characters and the abstract text is limited to 2200 characters; the character limit includes spacing and punctuation.
  • Abstracts must focus on the application of isotope techniques to ecological studies.   The Organizing Committee will decline to consider abstracts with another focus.
  • Oral presentations will tend to be awarded to abstracts that deal with new and emerging techniques/approaches and potential areas of controversy in isotope ecology.   Standard isotope applications or observational studies may be considered for poster presentations.
  • Authors should select one scientific session under which their abstract should be considered.  Abstracts will not be considered under another or multiple sessions so authors should be sure to select the most appropriate session for their work.
  • Final decisions regarding placement of individual abstracts and sessions rests with the Organizing Committee.
  • Special characters are currently not available in the abstract submission system.

Authors

  • Presenting Author Policy: the Presenting Author can only submit one (1) abstract with their registration.
  • The person submitting the abstract will automatically be listed as the Presenting Author. The Presenting Author cannot be modified.
  • A first author may elect to designate a co-author to submit and present the abstract at the meeting, provided that the Presenting Author maintains the Presenting Author Policy (submitting and presenting a maximum of 1 abstract).
  • The abstract submitter is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have agreed to be listed during abstract submission.

Oral and Poster Presentations

  • Poster presentations may be requested. These requests will be honored by the Organizing Committee for accepted abstracts.
  • Oral presentations may be requested, but are not guaranteed. Oral sessions are allocated by the Organizing Committee based on the total number of submissions received to a session and the relevance to the session selected.
  • Abstracts submitted as an oral may instead be considered for poster presentation.
